Dave Gallagher



Dave Gallagher’s life has been spent on the baseball diamond. Having gone straight into professional baseball directly from High school and playing 17 years of professional baseball, Dave Gallagher stands apart from the crowd.


The Cleveland Indians first round draft pick in 1980 and after developing and refining his skills in the Minor Leagues, Dave earned the right to play at the Major League level. Dave has played for a number of Major League teams in both the National and American Leagues.


From 1987 through 1995 he earned a roster spot and played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Whitesox, Baltimore Orioles, California Angels, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Phildelphia Phillies. His experience speaks for itself and having played for many major league organizations Dave has seen the best of Major League training techniques from the best in the business including many Hall of Fame Managers, Coaches and players.


Dave’s baseball knowledge is incredible. Having hitting coaches such as Bobby Bonds, Dave teammates have included Dave Winfield, Ozzie Guillan, Carlton Fisk, Bobby Bonilla, Eddie Murray, Willie Randolph, David Cone, Sid Fernandez, John Franco, Cal Ripkin Jr., Robin Ventura, Howard Johnson, and Dwight Gooden (just to name a few).


Dave has an incredible knowlede of ALL aspects of the game at the highest level possible.

Dave’s passion is baseball and he enjoys working with children of all levels, teaching the game and watching players mature and watching their talents take them to the highest attainable levels. Dave is a competitor who worked hard year over year to compete at the major league level and his love of and commitment to baseball continues with his academy teams. Following his retirement from Major League Baseball, for many years Dave was the hitting instructor for the Trenton Thunder. He also authored a book entitled “The Little League Hitters Journal” to help young ballplayers and thier parents work on baseball fundamentals, all aspects of the art of hitting, and assess player progress and performance in the field.


In October 2011, Dave was named the General Manager of the Trenton Generals a Major League sponsored expansion team in the American Collegiate Baseball League. The ACBL is only one of eight collegiate leagues sanctioned by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. It’s a wooden bat league for freshman, sophomores and juniors in college and plays a 40-game schedule from June through early August.
